Pride is an enemy of your faith that you must deal with if you will successfully defeat the attacks of the devil against your destiny. Pride is a particularly dangerous enemy of the faith. Pride is a demon spirit that is like a chameleon; it changes colour and manifests in different forms.  Faith and pride don’t work together. Pride can manifest as ego and sometimes manifests as shame. Some other time, it can manifest as dignity or even as over confidence. Pride is an attack of the devil that will make you go alone when you should take others along.

This kind of attack comes even to ministers of the gospel; it prevents them from calling upon other ministers for help thinking that it will make them inferior. It makes a Church member especially men (because of their ego) suffer in silence instead of approaching the pastor for prayers and counsel. That demon called pride tells him that he doesn’t even have to tell his wife what he’s going through, he can always handle things himself. The difference between an achiever and a leader is that an achiever does things alone while a leader works with others.

Sometimes, an achiever dies alone as a champion, while he could have gone higher. The goal of pride is to separate you from needed help. Jesus said to his disciples, “watch with me one hour.” Jesus trained his disciples to watch with him.  He sent them two by two into the country that He Himself was still going to get into. Even demons don’t operate alone, they operate in gangs and it is important that we also allow God to gang us together. He started with the couple gang: husband and wife team ganging up against the devil and then, the family gang: father, mother and their children. Psalms 127:4-5 says ‘happy is the man that has his quiver full of children, they will not be ashamed but they will speak with the enemy at the gate’. A family is the fighting unit in the hand of God. There is nothing wrong in the father calling the children and letting them in on the battle the family is fighting.

Prayer: Lord, I come against the spirit of pride and its appearance in my life. I receive divine exposure of every area where pride is in my life in Jesus’ name. Lord, help me to maximize my gang for a concrete victory over the attacks of the devil. Amen.
