Yesterday, I showed you the importance of understanding the thoughts and expectation of God over your life. Today, I will like to show you more on the power of expectation and the different expectations the Bible speaks of.
ii.The expectation of men (Acts 12:11)
This has to do with what men are expecting of you. It is either good or evil but you see, not every man is expecting something good from you. What men are expecting over your life may not be pleasant, but God in His faithfulness will always deliver His children from every evil expectation. In the passage above, God delivered Peter from the expectation of the Jews. When Paul the Apostle was attacked by a snake on the island of Melita (Acts 28: 1-6), the Bible says that the people were expecting him to fall down and die. But do you know that was the expectation of men and not God. God will surely deliver you from all evil expectations of men in Jesus’ name.
ii. The expectation of the devil.
The expectation of Satan is revealed in John 10:10 (He is out to steal, to kill and to destroy). He has never wished anything good for any man. He is expecting a bad end for himself and that is exactly what he is expecting for every other human being. If you stay with God, no matter what happens, it is the expectation of God that will come to pass over your life. The expectations of God have the potential and capacity to swallow up every expectation of the devil.
The devil works through the expectations of men to perpetuate his acts the same way God works out His plans and expectations through a man. The plans of the devil never leave a man better but bitter and worse. The devil keeps his victims in the dark over his plans for them until he completely disorganises and frustrates them. But there is a reality of divine exposure, divine revelation and divine disclosure of every satanic agenda around a child of God. May the expectations of God prosper in your life in Jesus’ name.
