ATTITUDES THAT JOIN YOU TO PEOPLE OUTSIDE GOD’S WILL - ACTS 21:4, 10-14, JONAH 1:1-4, ACTS 10:9-16

1.       The Paul Attitude: Paul represents a man who was willing to reach out to a people he was not sent to. He had a good desire to reach his people, the Jews. He was concerned for them, but he was not sent to them. Paul’s pursuit to minister to people outside of God’s will for him exposed him to assaults of the devil. Reaching out to people to whom you are not sent is one major way many believers get out of the programme of God. Many believers manifest a lesser destiny or end up not fulfilling all that God planned for them because they are inaccurate in many components of the will of God for them.

2.       The Jonah Attitude: Jonah is an example of a man who did not accept the people to whom he was sent. It does not matter who you are; if you step outside the will of God for your life, you will become God’s enemy and you may find God working against you. Jonah did not want to go to the people of Nineveh because of their sins, but God prevailed over him.

3.       The Peter Attitude: Just like Jonah, Peter was unwilling to go to the Gentiles because he considered them aliens to the promise. Average Jews don’t like the Gentiles. Ethnic considerations on the positive and on the negative side must be put aside if we are going to be accurate concerning the programme of God for our lives. Whether it is marriage, ministry, business or location among others, as children of God, we must submit and surrender our choices and desires to the will of God. Don’t let your tradition or tribal and racial leanings limit God’s purpose in your life.
A lesson is that you don’t choose the people, God does. Accept and give your best to the people God has chosen so that your destiny and purpose will attain the fullness of expression.

PRAYERLord, I submit to your will and receive grace to fully discharge all you have allocated to me in destiny in Jesus’ name. Amen!
